Across the stories
The Far Roads
The DLB-6 door exchange exists in Book 3 prose, byte-identical to theThe Far Roads draft-lock, at the hall doors below Tallow's plate (third–fourth bell): "Who's got this door?" / "I have." / "What's your name?" / "Cray." / "Cray," the Master said. "Wedge the other one as well and get it as wide as it goes, and it wants to stay wide until the last of them is off that plate." / "It'll be wide." The field page carries NO recognition, NO interiority about the voice, and moves on the next beat — the pair's design: the name lands and the work continues. Nothing else about her exists in The Far Roads.
