About
Second engineer aboard Endurance (came aboard at Houston off a fleet tender). Ferris's deputy and the one who manages him — keeps him fed, slept, alive; says boss so he'll let her. Welsh. Has the gift Ferris never learned: she can grieve a broken thing for exactly as long as it takes and then put the grief down and fix it. Keeps the engine deck lit when Ferris is down.
How they speak
Dry, flat Welsh — the worse the news, the flatter she lays it. "I've checked." Gallows warmth under the bark; manages Ferris by naming him (Dom).
